Down the Rabbit Hole

Let the mad dash to 50,000 words begin! This is my first year doing nano so at the moment I don't have any special tips and tricks to get through the month of November but I will posting how I'm doing and my progress and all I've learned as I go through the writing month of November.    Happy writing! So, I know I said I would have a blog series, but I've recently become sort of busy and also I'm having some story difficulties. On the spur of the moment a few months ago I added a few chapters of my book Truest on Wattpad, but then there were a lot of stressful events going on and I promptly forgot to add anymore. To be honest, I didn't have the nerve, but today I decided to take the plunge. (Cover by my talented mom) I added chapters four and five on Wattpad for you to read! Hey everyone! So, next week will be about revision but I totally forgot that this weekend I was going to my grandma's so I forgot a post for yesterday. But, I want to share the awesome time we had at the pumpkin farm. It was a real blast. :)  There was a pumpkin Noah's Ark.  And a beautiful Children's Garden.  Plus Peacocks!  Overall, it was a great day spent with great people. :) Can't wait to get my revision post up next week!  Have a great weekend everyone! 

Today I am starting a blog series about my process from the first draft to the last draft. I've been going through this process for the last few months and so its all very fresh in my mind. Step 1: The Spark of an Idea   That moment of perfection when you come up with the most brilliant idea of all time and you are just so hyped about the whole thing. I start a pinterest board, spend hours pinning to the board, still having no clue of the plot, and coming up with character names and settings.   Step 2: THE BEGINNING At the beginning I manage to stay focused and rush through the first few chapters like a madwoman, my fingers flying, my heart pounding, and characters having a blast. There's the inciting incident, my character starts to get into a few small problems, I get to introduce my other lovely secondary characters. My most favorite part of the beginning is usually when I get to introduce the love interest and if I'm lucky I get to write a scen...

Due to the fact that I've been at a funeral for the past... three days I believe? this post is a bit late but that's OK! Because I'm writing it right now and because I kinda... am writing it the day its going to be posted its going to be a bit about my book Discord. Next week, will be a more scheduled post. I have a beta reader or two reading it right now and giving me feedback which is amazingly helpful and its on Draft Five. I am very excited about Draft Five since the last four drafts have been crazy busy and tedious and long a little exhausting but so worth it. Yo everyone! Sorry I've been so slow and absent! But I'm here now. So, to start this post off I'd like to say this I am following through on my TV show review thingy but I'm also going to be changing up the blog a little. The truth is I'm a bit embarrassed to say this but I've kind of run out of ideas to write about well... writing. Plus I'm in a different stage of life than when I first started this blog. I actually got up at 6:30 this morning and was in my World Civilization class by 8 and now I am sort of cranky and tired but I think I'll survive. I'm getting off topic. Yesterday I talked about Sidekicks or supporting characters and now today I'm going to share my top five favorite supporting characters. So, here they are: Dex from Keeper of the Lost Cities: Dex is a great supporting character. He's there for Sophie from the very beginning (besides Fitz) and I feel like Dex was Sophie's first real friend that made her comfortable in the elven world that she is whisked away to. He's quirky and funny and super smart. Unlike the other characters I would categorize him as a bit of a nerd/geek but a spunky nerd/geek who's loyal and kind and fun. He's always there for Sophie when she needs to talk or just needs a hug. Puck from The Sisters Grimm: The Sisters Grimm series and I go way back. I can't even remember when I started reading the series but I know that I loved and still do love it.
