Happy Heart Day!

Happy Tuesday!!  In celebration of Valentine's Day I wrote a cute short-ish story about Rayla and Sadek from Desert Flower! It brought me so much joy to write this story and get to revisit Rayla and the Triadic Kingdoms world! In Xion, where Rayla and Sadek are currently staying, they celebrate a day called Divasan. It's a day to celebrate love in all its forms from romantic to platonic to familial and friendship. Divasan is one of the biggest celebrations of the year for Xion. Everyone celebrates with lots of treats, time spent with loved ones and a big festival at the end of the day.  Here's the first chapter (you can find the rest of the story with this link:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_MQ5wvoHitJM3kQMNl6d3PJ6VtAkK8H27Q8QpIfKv6I/edit?usp=sharing  Also, if you haven't read Desert Flower and Heart of Xion there are some spoilers in this story, so just fair warning. But if you would like to check out those two books, you can find them at these links:  Desert ...

Trick or Treat Flash Fic

Happy Friday!  I didn't get to share this flash fic on Wednesday, but to celebrate the first day of Fall I wrote a fun story about Amaya and Darren celebrating their first Halloween! This short story is kind of an AU situation. It's not really set at any particular time in the series, but incorporates all the characters from The Archive Series in a fun way. :) I had the best time writing this. It just makes me so happy, so here it is! Enjoy the adorableness that is Darren and Amaya! 😍  “Do I really have to wear this?” Darren asked from behind the closed door of the bathroom. Amaya stifled a grin and nodded. “Yes! You have to! We have to match,” she insisted. She heard an exasperated sigh come from the door and this time she couldn’t hold back a full-blown grin. He was going to look so adorable. They both would. He had no idea how long Amaya had been waiting to get a boyfriend so she could do a couple’s outfit. Amaya took a step back and grimaced when the back of her full-leng...

Havok Short Story!

Happy Monday! Dropping by on the blog today to let you all know that Amateur Monster Hunters is out today on Havok and free to read today only! So, if you want to check it out without having to pay a monthly fee to get access, I would do it today. Amateur Monster Hunters is all about Henry and Willow and their trek into a swamp to finally find proof that monsters are real. If you're interested, you can check it out right here:  Havok.com! Here's the first paragraph:  “I can’t believe you’re making me do this,” Willow grumbled, blowing a strand of brown hair out of her face. She trudged through the shallow, mucky water. Only Henry would think it was a good idea to spend their weekend stomping around a mosquito-infested swamp searching for something that didn’t exist. He was lucky they were best friends, or Willow would not have been so willing to skip out on normal teenage outings to follow him on his hunts every Saturday and Sunday. *** Also! Check back tomorrow for anot...

First Snowfall

So, I considered putting this short story into the back of Project Hellion (and maybe I still will) but for now I wanted to share it on here with you guys. It's also on  Wattpad if you want to read it on there. I was feeling the Christmas spirit and I thought this would be a fun little story to write. It's more like flash fiction or I guess could be considered "deleted scenes" from Project Hellion. Anyways, here it is: Delphi grinned as she peered out the window, her breath frosting the glass in front of her. The first snowfall of the season on Christmas Eve which was sort of perfect. It made her second Christmas without her parents or brother bearable and a little more magical. Amparo City got cold during the winter, but it rarely snowed, so to get to wake up to the snowflakes blanketing everything in sight felt like a good omen. She got ready, pulling on a pair of jeans and a festive turtleneck with little snowflakes and Christmas trees on it. Christmas was...

Stroke of Midnight: A Retelling

Happy Friday everyone! So, last week I put the first two chapters of Stroke of Midnight on Wattpad and today I just uploaded the last three! I had a good time writing this little short story and I hope you enjoy reading it. :) Aidan was up at the crack of dawn and already had breakfast halfway finished by the time Sara came to help him finish. “You shouldn’t be up so early,” she chastised as she entered the kitchen and got to work finishing the food. Aidan shrugged, wiping his hands on his breeches. They had another stain on them and his boots needed to be mended again. “I don’t mind. You should be able to sleep.” Sara shook her head. “Go care for the horses. I’ll finish up the meal.” “Alright,” was all he said. Before he left though, he pecked her on the cheek affectionately which brought a smile to her lips. Aidan grinned back, and she wagged a finger at him. “You’re too good of a boy Aidan. One of these days your goodness is going to get you into trouble.” He shrugged o...

Stroke of Midnight: Chapter Two

Hey guys! So Stroke of Midnight has five chapters and I'll be posting them every other day over the next week on Wattpad. Whenever I post them on Wattpad, I'll update the blog to let you know! I just posted chapter two this morning and it's in the POV of the kind and sweet Aidan, the main protagonist of this book. I hope you love him as much as I do and I hope you love his and Ella's story as much as I enjoyed writing it! Here's a little sneak peek. Click the link below to read the full story! Aidan finished setting the logs in a neat pile on the side of the cottage, brushing his hands together to get the last of the dust and wood flakes off his skin. Almost finished for the day it wasn't even sundown yet. He grinned as he tipped his head up to enjoy a moment of peace. Griffin and Malik would return any time now from their gallivanting around the village and his stepfather would be back before dinner, or at least that was what he said. Hagan was a business...

Stroke of Midnight: Chapter One

Two posts in one day?? What is going on?? ;) I finished revisions on a short story I wrote a few weeks ago for a Wattpad contest. The contest is called #reversetheroles and so for the contest, I wrote a story reversing the roles of Cinderella and Prince Charming where the prince is a princess and Cinderella is a guy named Aidan. The contest ends October 28 so I just put chapter one up on Wattpad and I wanted to share it on here. It's in the POV of Ella (check back for chapter two which is in the POV of Aidan!). It's also only a second draft and, I mean, I like it and I think it turned out well, but there still may be a few rough edges to it. Anyways, I hope you enjoy! “Please, Ella, just listen to me,” her father sighed, hands outstretched palms up. Ella scowled and turned away. She knew she shouldn’t be so pouty, so childish, but she couldn’t help it, her father was asking the impossible of her. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t impossible, but it was pretty dang close. How cou...
