August Monthly Wrap Up

Happy Wednesday!  How did your August go? Do anything fun? I can't believe August is almost over already! I probably say this every month, but I really do feel like this month went by so quickly. I'm not complaining though. September is almost here, which means fall is almost here! I know the first official day of fall doesn't come till later in September, but to me, September 1st signifies the start of fall. August is the last day of summer to me and September ushers in my very favorite season and my very favorite type of weather. I hope you're August has gone well and that you're looking forward to September too!  August Writing:  Writing this month has been a bit rocky. I started a new project and was super excited about it... until I hit the 30k mark and it sort of fell apart. I lost inspiration and motivation for it. It was just such a struggle to write. So then I decided to work on the sequel to IWWP because I was feeling excited and inspired about that... an

Kindle Vella and Sterling Silver Chapter 1

Happy Friday!  I have some exciting news! A few years ago I put my YA vampire hunter book up on Wattpad chapter by chapter and it did fairly well. That draft was by no means perfect, but I loved it for what it was and enjoyed sharing it on there for readers.  And now, years later, I'm sharing it on a new platform: Kindle Vella! I've wanted to try this platform out for a while, but just have not had the time or had the right project. Sterling Silver has been edited and revised and pretty much rewritten in a lot of ways. I think it's finally strong enough to stand on its own and is deserving of being published on a platform where people can pay to read it.  About Sterling Silver:  Tabitha Sterling had her life mostly figured out. Go to high school, hang out with friends and hunt vampires at night. Until Sebastian showed up. Sebastian blows into town to warn her about Alistair, old enemy of her family of vampire hunters, who has his gaze set on Tabitha. As Tabitha and Sebasti

Last Semester Thoughts

Happy Wednesday!  I started my final college class this week and have a lot of thoughts and feelings about it. It got me to thinking about this summer and this year and how God goes before us and makes a way. If we surrender control of our lives to Him (and even when we don't and He has to slam doors shut and wrestle it out of our hands) things work out better than we could have ever imagined.  Last year, honestly for the past two years, I've been a bit of a nervous wreck about graduating. The future has always been scary to me. I like having control and I have no control over my future (which now I know is a good thing. I'd rather God have control over that then me. He does a way better job than I ever could). But, nonetheless, it was still scary and daunting. I felt like everyone else knew what they were doing and what their futures held and I was just floundering. I felt stuck in place. I didn't think when the time came for me to move into a new season of life that I

Heart of Xion Release Day!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  Heart of Xion releases today! I'm so excited to finally get to share this book with the world!  This release has been a bit more lowkey than my others. I've been so busy the past few months that I feel like I haven't poured into sharing about Heart of Xion and spreading the word about it as much as I should have. But, nonetheless, its out now! Like Desert Flower, this book means a lot to me. I channeled a lot of my own experiences into it. I wanted a book that talked about broken friendship, unrequited love and the fact that your first love/crush doesn't always end up being "the one." We don't see that enough in stories. We see friends to lovers and couples falling head over heels for each other, even in a slow burn there's always that undertone that that person is "the one." There's not enough stories about heartbreak and getting over someone you were deeply invested in. I wanted a story that reminded me that th

Intro to My WIPs

Happy Wednesday!  Wow look at that, an actual blog post that isn't a monthly wrap up! It's a miracle haha I know I keep saying this, but I really do hope to get more regular on posting on here even if its only twice a month instead of just once a month. Its just been such a struggle to find words to write on here, hence the reason I'm starting out easy with a writing update!  I've been working on a lot of different projects this year. I've had a hand in a little bit of everything and thought it would be fun (and helpful) to do an intro and share a little about each of them on here along with my plans for them in the future.  The Archive Series Books 3-5:  Book 3: Scarlet Phoenix  Book 4: Black Rose  Book 5: Indigo Star  Scarlet Phoenix Aesthetic Scarlet Phoenix has gone to my alpha reader and has gone through all the edits and has been mostly polished and is pretty much ready to be published. I'll probably go over it one more time, and of course, there's fo
