August Monthly Wrap Up

Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe August is almost over. Just a few more days! This month feels like it went by so fast. Not that I'm complaining because I am excited and so ready for all the Fall vibes! But also, as much as I have wanted to rush through this last official month of Summer, I've forced myself to slow down and enjoy the end of summer. Drink lots of iced drinks, go outside in the sun and warmth as much as possible. Wear lots of dresses and shorts and just not like my mindset jump straight into Fall. This summer has been a good one and I want to finish it well.  Writing:   I did so much writing things this month! I rewrote Sterling Silver almost from scratch! Sterling Silver is the first in my YA vampire series that I wrote all the way back in 2016 and published for a short time before taking it down. And now it has been rewritten and is being read by my mom. Over the weekend, I also finished rewriting the sequel. I had written the sequel in 2018 (I wish I rem

Called to Tell Stories

Happy Wednesday!  Over the month of July I struggled with a lot of self-doubt about my writing and comparison when it comes to other writers/indie authors. I was supposed to be celebrating the release of Golden Touch and the fact that I have a book out in the world that I had been working on for a whole year! I doubted whether I should keep publishing or not because what was the point if I was going to get validation for all my hard work? What was the point if I wasn't going to get lots of reviews and lots of sales?  That kind of makes me cringe now. I didn't realize it until a few days ago, but all of a sudden over the past mon

Moves and Changes

Happy Wednesday! Last August was kind of a big month for me. We moved into a new house and I took a different direction with this blog. This week marks a year since I started posting more consistently and writing faith-based stuff on here. On the first Wednesday of last August I wrote a whole post about starting something new . It felt fitting considering I felt like I was starting a new season and since then, God has used this blog in different ways to encourage others and to encourage me as well. This feels kind of like a milestone, so I wanted to take a minute to think back to last August.  Last Summer we spent a lot of time looking for a new house in the same area we’ve been in for the past ten years and since I didn’t have to do any of the technical stuff, it was actually a lot of fun. I remember getting to go see fancy model homes and drive by already built homes, imagining what life would be like in each of them. Would this be our new home? Would this be our new neighborhood?
