March-May Wrap Up!

Happy Tuesday!  So I had a March/April blog post all written out and forgot to post it! So here's a March-May recap! How has the last three months gone for you? March ended up being a really good month. I turned 25 and had a really great birthday I got to hang out with friends, watch some new shows and am almost done with the Throne of Glass series. April and May have also been really good months for me. God's blessed me in so many amazing ways over the past three months.  I feel bad that this blog has fallen so to the wayside for me. I used to post every week and be so excited and now I just really struggle to keep this updated. I'm starting to think it might be time to let this blog post unless I somehow get renewed motivation/inspiration for it.  March-May Writing:  March was a very good writing month. I just reached 65K in Immortal Circus #3, and despite a few small hiccups, it's been flowing really well. I'm enjoying getting to draft a book after spending ...

A Goodbye to The Archive Series

Happy Friday!  The final book of The Archive Series comes out next Tuesday. This has been almost three years in the making and I don't know what to say to properly say goodbye.  I started this series in December 2019 with Golden Touch. The idea had been sparked by me watching The Road to El Dorado and having a desire to write a treasure hunt story for most of December. Little did I know that the story of a girl finding a boy with a Midas touch up in the mountains to help her family with their money issues would turn into a five book series and be a huge part of my life for the next few years. I also had no idea that that series would get me through one of the hardest years - 2020. Honestly, God knew what 2020 would be like and He knew I was going to need a story and characters that would make me happy, give me joy and focus on during that very hard year. And for me, that was Amaya and Darren and this whole series.  I poured a lot of myself and my story into Amaya and Darr...

January Wrap Up!

Happy Friday!  I'm a few days late on my wrap up. Honestly, I've been sick for the past two weeks and I didn't know what to write/didn't have the energy to write anything out on here, but I am here! I am back and I am ready to wrap up January. I still really want to get better at being on this blog more, but I just can never seem to find the energy or right words to write for a post on here other than a wrap up... One of my goals is to try and write on here a little more, so we'll see how it goes.  January Writing:  January was an editing month. I wrote like one short story and that was it. Everything else was just lots of editing. Editing Immortal Circus with beta reader feedback, doing some polishing edits on Heart of Xion for the rerelease, re-editing the whole St. Croix Falls trilogy. Just lots and lots of editing, which has been kind of nice since I've felt a little burnt out when it comes to drafting. Plus, when I got sick I could still edit because it ta...

2022 Wrap Up!

Happy Wednesday!  2022 is three days from being over. We made it guys! Another year checked off the list. This year has been packed full of so much. So much to be thankful for and so much to learn from. It's always a good year when you can look back and realize you're finishing the year better than the way you started. I've already written a post about all the big life stuff that happened this year, so for now, let's talk books!  Favorite Books of 2022:  A Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber  Definitely one of my favorites of 2022! I love all of Stephanie Garber's books so much, but her Once Upon a Broken Heart series has to be my favorite so far. I relate to Evangeline so much and I love Jacks so, so much. I can't wait to see what happens in book 3!  Stellarlune by Shannon Messenger  Stellarlune!! My absolute love! Another top favorite book of the year! This book gave me everything I could have wanted. The Great Foster Oblivion is quite possibl...

Monthly Wrap Up: October

Happy Wednesday!  How has your October gone? For the first time all year, I'm not surprised that October is coming to an end. It didn't feel like it went too fast or too slow. It was just what I needed and I'm thankful to God for giving me that. Maybe not what I had planned or wanted a month or two ago, but definitely what I needed. God is so good in that. Always giving us what we need even when we don't know what we need. Anyway, I'm just very thankful for this month and all the good things God has given me.  October Writing:  I finally buckled down and finished writing the sequel to The Immortal Circus! My goal at the beginning of the month was to finish it before November and I did that with a few days to spare! As most first drafts do, it needs a lot of work, but I'm really happy with how it turned out and am excited that I finally finished it. That draft took longer than any other draft I've written in a looong time.  I also finalized edits and formatt...

Intro to My WIPs

Happy Wednesday!  Wow look at that, an actual blog post that isn't a monthly wrap up! It's a miracle haha I know I keep saying this, but I really do hope to get more regular on posting on here even if its only twice a month instead of just once a month. Its just been such a struggle to find words to write on here, hence the reason I'm starting out easy with a writing update!  I've been working on a lot of different projects this year. I've had a hand in a little bit of everything and thought it would be fun (and helpful) to do an intro and share a little about each of them on here along with my plans for them in the future.  The Archive Series Books 3-5:  Book 3: Scarlet Phoenix  Book 4: Black Rose  Book 5: Indigo Star  Scarlet Phoenix Aesthetic Scarlet Phoenix has gone to my alpha reader and has gone through all the edits and has been mostly polished and is pretty much ready to be published. I'll probably go over it one more time, and of course,...

June Monthly Wrap Up!

Happy Wednesday!  How did your June go? Did you do anything fun this past month?  We are finishing out June by moving into our new house and my final class started on Monday too. Its felt a little hectic and busy, but it'll be so nice once we're all moved in. More on that later in the post. For now, here's a writing update!  June Writing: I got quite a bit done this month. Since I knew July was going to be busy I wanted to knock out as much as I could. I finished editing and formatting Heart of Xion (it's all ready to be published)! I then buckled down and worked on the rest of the Archive Series. Scarlet Phoenix is now with an alpha reader and when I went to look over Black Rose and Indigo Star, I realized how much I loved those two books. Emerald Phantom and Scarlet Phoenix were rough ones to get through, but reading Black Rose and Indigo Star reminded me of why I love the Archive series so much and how important it is and the characters are to me. I only had to d...
