Happy Wednesday!  I was planning to post this last week, but it didn't happen, so here it is this week! I hope Nanowrimo is going well for everyone participating this year! :b I woke up November first and was genuinely happy and excited for this month, which I honestly haven't felt in a while and part of that comes from knowing that Nanowrimo is this month.   Anyways! Happy Tuesday!  We're officially three days into Nanowrimo, so I thought I'd share a few tips (specifically for the pantsers out there). This is my sixth Nanowrimo and I've won them all, so I thought maybe I have some wisdom to share? Honestly, I'm not sure how I've won six Nanowrimos other than out of shear force of will. The thought of not getting to 50,000 words at the end of the month after committing to it kills me, so I always push through even when it's hard.  But let's start with this first: If you don't know, there are three types of writers. Pantsers, plantsers and plotters. Pantsers are those of us who write by the seat of our pants. We jump in and just let the story happen without really planning or plotting anything out. The story takes us where it wants. Plotters are the opposite. They plan out everything before they write a single word of their WIP. Some plotters are meticulous and others have loose plans and worldbuilding notes and all th...

Happy Wednesday!  I can't believe October is almost over! 😭 It feels like it went by so fast! And yet, I feel like this last week of October is creeping by. I'm not sure if I'm glad for the very slow end of October or would prefer to just have it over with haha I am sad to see the Halloween-Fall month go, but I'm very much looking forward to November and Thanksgiving. I'm so ready for Nanowrimo!!  October Writing: I finished the first draft of Scarlet Phoenix on October 4th, so that was awesome! It's more of a skeleton draft and definitely needs some more meat on its bones, but it was still the best feeling to have it finished! It's got so much potential and I seriously can't wait to start revising it.  The rest of October was spent revising and editing my short story Operation Revelry and editing Unearthed. Another Nanowrimo is almost behind us. For those of you who may not know what Nanowrimo is, its National Novel Writing Month. A month where writers from all over come together to write 50,000 words. It's an amazing and encouraging and inspiring environment to be in all month. Everyone is so supportive of one another. We all want one another to succeed at winning nanowrimo. This year was by far the hardest nanowrimo I've ever had. All the other ones I had a clear plan, I was starting either a new project or a project I've been excited about for a while. Last Nanowrimo I wrote Second Star to the Right. The last two before that I wrote different versions of Project Hellion and for my first one, I wrote Weapon Icean. All of those were oddly easy. They went fairly smoothly. I never worried I wouldn't get to 50,000 words. This November... was very different. I think it was a rude awakening for me. I realized how hard Nanowrimo could be. I mean all the others weren't sup...

Happy Halloween everyone! We're having a soggy, cloudy, cold Halloween this year... It's supposed to snow later today! 😱 It'll last maybe through night because tomorrow is supposed to be sunny so any snow we get will melt away. But still... that's just a little too early to even be mentioning snow. I'm honestly kind of sad October's gone by so quickly... Once November hits, it feels like we're way too close to Christmas and then the end of the year which I'm not sure I'm ready for. I'm excited for Thanksgiving and for Christmas of course but also.. I don't want November to go by as quickly as October has. I want to slow down and not worry so much and just enjoy the Fall weather before it gives way to snowy coldness. So, I know it's been a while... November has been a pretty busy month for me with classes and getting several colds within a series of a few weeks. But, after a three-day headache, I am finally feeling better and am feeling very, very happy because my first ever children's book is almost ready to be published!! I know this is supposed to be a nanowrimo update, but I just have to say a small thing about this cute little book. My mom came to me one day saying how it would be cool to write a story about my little brother's stuffed red panda who he calls Firespot. At first, I wasn't so sure about the idea... I thought it would be fun to write something just for him for Christmas because I know he would really love a story about his little red panda, but... I've never written a children's book, especially not a fictional one about missionaries where there's no fantastical or magical element. Hello! I hope you all had a great Halloween! I had a fun time and got lots of yummy candy which is always the best part about Halloween. This is a day late... like many of my wrap-ups are, but oh wells. October Writing: October simultaneously felt very long and very short. Some weeks felt like they dragged on and I couldn't wait to get them over with and other weeks went by in a blink of an eye. Nonetheless, I managed to survive another month of classes and I got a lot of writing done too. I worked on a lot of revisions of Sterling Silver... which I thought would be done by now buuut they aren't. That book is being way more difficult than I thought it would be. October was mostly just revising and thinking about my future and what I want my writing to look like in the future. Later in the month though, I wrote my first ever children's story! Hey guys! So October's been a slow month for blog posts. :( It's just been so busy and I haven't even had enough time to do a lot of book writing. I hope for November I'll have more time to write on here more because I really do love writing blog posts and updating this place. So I knew Nanowrimo was coming in a month, but it hit me this week that it starts in two weeks!! Two weeks November begins and so does Nanowrimo and... I'm feeling sort of scattered and stuck with my writing. I mean, I want to have Project Hellion revised and ready to publish at the end of November. I'm in the middle of revising Sterling Silver 2.0 (that I will update on Wattpad once I'm finished) and then once I'm done with Sterling Silver, I have Blood Brother to work on... So, it's not that I don't have projects to work on. I have a lot of stuff I am and could revise, but for Nanowrimo I want to work on something fresh. I like working hard to get to 50 thousand words...

So, this is kind of a cheat post (again). I'm going easy on myself, but I really wanted to post something since I've barely posted all October. It's been... quite a busy month. Lots of work and classwork and going places and all that. I haven't been sick in almost five-six weeks and I think that's a record. But I have caught another cold. I joke about jinxing myself, but I am seriously reconsidering shouting to the world that I haven't been sick for five weeks because a few days ago I was telling my aunt that and she said don't jinx yourself! Well guess what? The next day I got a cold. It's not a ridiculously horrible one, but it's still not fun... Before I get into the post I just wanted to say, I finished Silver!! After two months, I finally finished the sequel to Golden and I am not only so proud of myself for sticking with it and loving it the whole time, but also super excited to dive back in and get revising. Guys!! I am so, so excited to present the cover for Weapon Icean. The edits and everything are finished. My book is done and it all feels so surreal! It's been a long and sometimes grueling process, especially for someone who can become a bit impatient like me . And then BAM it was just... ready. The cover is amazing and I am so excited to share it with you guys! Just a few more days now and Weapon Icean will be ready for sale!
