Chapter One: The Wildling

So this is a little something I worked on last week and I really had fun with it and loved writing it. It's a short story, really short actually, but so fun to write and inspired by an idea or two one of my little brothers gave me. There's only three chapters, so next week I'll put out the second one and the next week after that I'll put out the third, and who knows? Maybe I'll continue Naomi and Robin's stories. It was the end of August and the promise of Fall hung in the air, ushering in gold and red leaves, and smiling jack-o-lanterns and pumpkin spice donuts. But for Naomi Sky the Fall always brought with it the taste and touch of magic. Everyone in her small town of Hylan Hills waited year-round for the Fall to come. Yes, there was always magic in the Spring and Summer and Winter. Those seasons held their own kind of magic full of dew drop fairies awakening in the Spring and goblins causing mischief and trolls peeking from beneath bridges in the Summer

Looking Forward to Fall

August is almost over and September is on its way!! Next week it'll be down to the 60's and I'll get to wear my jeans and hoodies and comfy clothes outside! (If you haven't figured it out yet, I love this time of year! Fall is my favorite time). There's just so many great moments during the Fall and I have so many great memories during September and October and November. There's the chilly weather and bundling up and going to more parks because its gorgeous out (I pretty much hibernate and hide in my room during the summer because I'm like a vampire and am drained of life in the heat). There's the beautiful leaves and the smell of Autumn in the air. So in preparation and excitement for Autumn to get here and for Summer to be over with here are ten things I love about Autumn: The Chilly Weather: The temperature drops to the 60's and it feels amazing! There's a chilly breeze in the air and I can wear my hoodies and my jackets and my jeans and

First Week of Classes and Writing Things

So, the Fall semester has started. I have a feeling this post is going to turn into a giant rant about college and why I think some of these classes are ridiculous and unnecessary. It's been a bit jumbled and disorganized on my part, mostly because my online classes switched from Blackboard to Canvas, and let me just say, Canvas is so confusing and difficult to use! On Blackboard all of the teachers had the due dates and assignments for the week in the same area of the app. I knew where to find everything and it was all super easy to use and operate. On Canvas however, each teacher with each class seems to be able to decide where they want to put links and class schedules and due dates and what assignments are due that week in whatever place they want. For me, that makes it difficult to figure out where my schedule is, what assignments are due when and just what is going on. One of the classes has the due dates on the calendar in the syllabus and another has it in the Modules and

Friday in Review: The Defenders (ft. lots of Defender/Iron Fist gifs)

I feel like I haven't done one of these in forever!! Which is so sad because I love writing these things. I guess I've just been busy with other things and haven't really had a book/TV show/movie to write about. But now I do! How can I not write about the Defenders? It was just so good! So, first off, the writers of that show and all of the Netflix Marvel shows are really amazing. I watched all of Iron Fist and loved, loved, loved that show! I watched a few episodes of Daredevil and I know a lot of people liked that show but I just couldn't get into it for some reason even though I really wanted to and I didn't watch Jessica Jones or Luke Cage at all. But Iron Fist was what reeled me in. But what's so impressive and awesome is that I didn't have to watch all four shows to understand and enjoy The Defenders. And by the end I really liked all four characters a lot. Jessica Jones I was a little iffy about at the beginning, she's definitely an acquired t

When Your Head is in the Clouds

Sometimes I am so full of words and opinions that I must sit down at this blog and write it all out and be really passionate. Blog ideas flood on my brain left and right and I can't catch up with them all or write them all fast enough. And then there are times when no ideas come and I have nothing to rant about. At least nothing writerly related. And if I do have something to rant about, whether its writing related or not, I just don't feel like sitting down and writing it. I don't feel the burning passion and desire to rant about it on here. I feel like July and sort of now August, have been like that. Like my well of inspiration is dry and I've got nothing, for now anyways. To be honest, I can't be hard on myself because July and the beginning of August have been sort of busy and hard. July has been just a whirlwind of do this and go there and be here and get this done. It was great, but... crazy busy. August has settled, in terms of being here and there and ev
