February Monthly Wrap Up

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I hope you had a great February and a fun Valentine's Day! February's been a good month for me. There have been some downs, but a lot of ups too. But now, I am so ready for March. February always feels like the month that gets me from A to B. I like February, but I love March because March is my birthday month, so I'm always eagerly waiting for the end of this month haha But especially this year... I'm feeling ready for March. I'm ready for the cold and snow to start to fade and for the sun to come back.  Writing: Writing-wise, this month has been good. I had planned to continue my short story/flash fiction streak, but it sort of fell to the way side... Mostly because I've been busy doing line edits for Golden Touch. I just finished those last week and I sent it to a friend of mine to beta read! She'll be the third person to read this book and I'm excited to get her feedback. It was good to do that read through again and fix

Tips for Writing Romance (Ft. TVD Gifs)

Happy Wednesday!  I realized I miss doing more writing-related posts and I especially miss making posts full of gifs, so I'm planning to post at least one writing post each month, starting with this one!  I'm pretty sure this is like my second or third year of writing a post about TVD and romance in February (or at least mentioning TVD in a post) and I am not sorry about it. 😂 I love The Vampire Diaries so much, and recently, I've been thinking about all the things I appreciated or that they got right while writing the romances.  So here we go. This is pretty much just one big TVD romances appreciation post, so if you haven't watched the show yet and plan to, be aware that SPOILERS are ahead.  Tips for Writing a good romance:  Make sure they start off as friends. This is what I love about Caroline and the guys she dated. All of her epic loves (and Matt... I don't know if he counts as an epic love?) started out as friendships. Even Klaus. He pursued her, but they h

God With Us

Happy Wednesday!  I guess the story of Joseph really stuck with me a few Sundays ago because I wrote not one blog post about him, but two in the past few weeks!  One of the things the pastor mentioned about the story of Joseph was how God isn't mentioned until after Joseph has been sold into slavery. I had never noticed that before, so I went back to the story and looked at it myself and he was right. It isn't until chapter 39 once Joseph was sold to Potiphar that it says that "the Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master." Over the past two months, I've been spending a lot of time digging deeper into the Word, into my faith and my relationship with God. There was a stretch of time where it felt like He wasn't there. He wasn't around. I was just going through the motions. Sometimes I still feel like that. But here's the thing... just because we don't feel Him or see Him in our circumstances, doesn&

You Know Better than I

Happy Wednesday!  So, have you guys ever watched the Prince of Dreams movie? The one about Joseph? I'm just going to be honest, that movie and the Prince of Egypt movie gets me every single time. Those movies make me tear up and they make me feel so many feelings every time I watch them. Anyways, so two Sundays ago the pastor was preaching about the life of Joseph and how it wasn't until Joseph had been sold into slavery to Potiphar that God was first mentioned in his story. It said the Lord was with Joseph when he was sold to Potiphar and again it said the Lord was with him when he was wrongfully accused and imprisoned. His whole sermon was about how God is with us. As long as we have breath in our lungs, no matter our circumstances - good or bad - He is with us. I wrote a whole other post (really it's just a really long rant about how God is with us in everything we do) and maybe one of these days I'll share that, but today I want to talk about something that isn'
