January Wrap Up

Happy Sunday!  We survived the first month of the year! How was your January? Mine had quite a few ups and downs, especially when it came to my writing.  January Writing : On January 1st I started a new WIP. Really it was just me following a plot bunny and impulsively seeing where it took me. About two weeks into it, the idea sort of fizzled out, so I ended up going back to my secret WIP that I had started last year. I feel bad I haven’t been able to give that WIP the attention it deserves, especially this month. It’s been super up and down and I already know it needs a lot of work. It’s a pretty messy first draft.  But one of the reasons my secret WIP hasn’t gotten a ton of attention is because I was also busy working on revising and editing Desert Flower. I finished a read through of that and am taking a break from it before I jump back in and finish the edits.  January Reading : I read three books this month, kind of four if you count a book I DNF-ed halfway through.  My first offi

Emerald Phantom Release Day!

Happy Thursday!  To start off, if you haven't read Golden Touch there will be small spoilers about the ending. If you don't mind spoilers or have read Golden Touch, read on!  Today the sequel to Golden Touch and the second book in my Archive Series comes out! I've been sitting with this book since February 2020, so it feels a little surreal and strange that its actually out in the world today. That people besides me can actually read it. All week I've been trying to figure out why I've felt so strange about Emerald Phantom coming out and maybe I know why now. Because I've been working on this book on and off since February two years ago! No wonder its felt so weird all this week and I can't quite believe that its actually out in the world now.  Where to start about Emerald Phantom? Sequels are usually the hardest books for me to write. I struggled so much with Cursed (the sequel to Wayward) and Project Hellion (the sequel to Weapon Icean). They were some of

New Year, New Mercies

Happy Wednesday!  How was your guys’ New Years and holidays? Mine was good, I always love going into a New Year, though I think last year I was more excited for 2021 than I am for 2022. I find myself going into 2022 in a weird headspace. At the moment, I feel a little like I’m taking it one step at a time and going through the motions. I set my goals, I wrote a blog post about the things I’m looking forward to this year, I’m editing and I’ve fallen in love with a new story idea... but I still feel like I’m in a weird spot. I usually am so excited for a new year to start. Last year, even amongst all the hard I was going through during December and January, I was excited for 2021 (probably just because I was ready for 2020 to be over haha). But I'm not overly thrilled or excited for 2022. I’m kind of sad that Christmas is over. Christmas feels like it went by too quickly and I think maybe it has something to do with me knowing that next week I start some of my final college classes a
