Happy almost September! August feels like it was so long and short at the same time. I can't believe this is the last day of the month... It's so crazy how much has happened this month. We moved, I went to a wedding, my classes started, I'm revising St. Croix Falls 3 instead of rewriting it. August was jam packed and it feels like it all went by so quickly!  August Writing: I got to 20,000 words in the third book in what I am now calling the Archive series (of which Golden Touch and Emerald Phantom are a part of). Every time I sit to write in this series its like a breath of fresh air. I sit down and write and it feels like stepping outside in a crisp Autumn morning and taking a deep breath and just smiling and feeling all warm inside. It feels like home and these are my people, my friends. Never in my entire life has a series gone so smoothly! This was an all of a sudden, spur of the moment thing. Defiant had been ready to be published for months, but I kept putting it off for some reason. Time just seemed to keep getting away from me. But on Monday, I felt this burst of I need to do something with this story. I love that story and Castian and Shia too much not to share it. I didn't want them just sitting on my laptop gathering dust. I wrote Defiant in the middle of April - right in the middle of the height of all this Covid stuff. It was when I was feeling frustrated and angry, discouraged and stuck in my writing and maybe even a little hopeless. I remember praying to God for some sort of story, some sort of reprieve from the dry desert of creativity in my head and heart. Then I opened up Pinterest and saw this guy: and was inspired to write. Happy Tuesday everyone! I just wanted to pop on here and say that Cursed is officially out today! 😆 This book took me a lot longer than I thought it would to write and revise and publish. It went through a lot of different phases. This is my second sequel I've ever hit publish on and it feels amazing. Project Hellion was a hard book to write. It took me almost two years. This one? Happy Wednesday everyone! We're officially on a stay at home or shelter in place or whatever you want to call it order. So, no going out somewhere unless its for food or medical reasons. Really, the whole order didn't really change much of how we've been doing things at my house the last week. The only stores we go to, and by we I mean one person leaves the house and comes back with groceries, are grocery stores. I can understand why they're doing that though. So many people are going to Lowes and Hobby Lobby and all these non-essential places. Hopefully this will deter them, and I think those stores might actually be closing for the time being. March Writing: This month has been an interesting one writing-wise. I've been getting in a little bit of writing the sequel to Golden Touch here and there. Hi everyone! *dusts cobwebs off the blog* Wow... I've been ridiculously inactive on here and I feel really bad about it... Class work, life stuff and writing has taken up all my spare time. Since I haven't been on here in so long I thought I'd do a mid-month check in and just an update type of thing to share what I've been up to lately. First of all, I am loving the weather! October is my second favorite month of the year (second only to March which is my birthday month). I love the cool weather, the warm drinks, getting to wear jeans and jackets and seeing the beautiful colorful leaves and of course, Halloween. We've been going out to parks and just enjoying the sunny, beautiful weather. Most of all though, my writing schedule has gotten kind of crazy (in a good way). Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! Guess what?? Wayward is up for pre-order now!! This is really happening, this book is really going to be out next month and I can't wait to share it with everyone. I started this year with a totally different book I was working on and a totally different plan on publishing and yet here I am, self-publishing yet again. No matter how many times I go back to traditional publishing and wanting to query, I always end up back here. Not because it's easy or fast. I keep going back to self-publishing because I like having complete creative control over my work. I like setting deadlines for myself and I like the community that comes with self-publishing. Happy Wednesday everyone! So I had planned to get a post written over the weekend buuut things don't always go as planned. Instead I came down with a bit of a cold and though I'm feeling a little better, my brain is not up for writing an actual post.
