A Goodbye to The Archive Series

Happy Friday!  The final book of The Archive Series comes out next Tuesday. This has been almost three years in the making and I don't know what to say to properly say goodbye.  I started this series in December 2019 with Golden Touch. The idea had been sparked by me watching The Road to El Dorado and having a desire to write a treasure hunt story for most of December. Little did I know that the story of a girl finding a boy with a Midas touch up in the mountains to help her family with their money issues would turn into a five book series and be a huge part of my life for the next few years. I also had no idea that that series would get me through one of the hardest years - 2020. Honestly, God knew what 2020 would be like and He knew I was going to need a story and characters that would make me happy, give me joy and focus on during that very hard year. And for me, that was Amaya and Darren and this whole series.  I poured a lot of myself and my story into Amaya and Darr...

TV Ships that Never Sailed That I'm Still Upset About

 Happy Wednesday!  I am alive and I hope you all had a good Valentine's Day! The past few weeks have been rough. Actually, it kind of feels like all of January and the first part of February was rough. But things are starting to look up and get back to normal. I know Valentine's Day is behind us, but I couldn't let February pass by without doing a Valentine's Day post.  This is a post for all the OTP's that never ended up together, so if you plan to watch The 100, Teen Wolf, TVD, Angel, and Firefly then skip this post. If you don't mind spoilers or have already watched these then go on ahead. This post is mostly inspired by me still being upset about the whole Bellarke situation on The 100, so be prepared for ranting haha  Caroline and Klaus This still makes me upset! They had the perfect opportunity to bring Caroline and Klaus together and to make all the Klaroline shippers very happy with the way The Vampire Diaries ended. If Caroline couldn't be with Stef...

//WIP// All About Golden Touch

Happy Wednesday everyone! So, even though I'm not sure when I'll share this book with the world - as in let other people read it - I do want to share a little about it. I've been talking about it a lot on here, on my newsletter, on Instagram and with anyone who will listen because I love it so much. And since I've talked about it so much, I thought it only fair to share a little about the story as a whole so you actually know what I'm talking about. Plus, I just love this book so much and I love the idea of making an entire post dedicated to it. At the moment I don't have a real blurb, but I did jot down a few lines that came to me while revising Golden Touch. It's super brief and just something that popped into my head, but I'll share it anyways because I feel like they do encompass the heart of the story pretty well. So let's just go for it! I'm so excited to share some of what Golden Touch is all about with you guys! My Improvised Blurb...

How to Write A Survivalist Character During The Apocalypse

Hello friends! It's been a while... The last two weeks have been kind of nuts. The entire world is freaking out, everything's been turned upside down. Last week was rough... I had wanted to write out a birthday blog post and do something special on here for turning 22, but then everything happened and I was too stressed and I forgot to write anything, so that's kind of a bummer. I guess I could do it this week, but I feel like something else is needed for this week. I was thinking I should write some meaningful, hope-filled blog post. Write about what's going on in the world... but then I realized, everyone is already doing that. Social media is saturated with hope-filled positivity. And don't get me wrong, that's great! It's needed right now. To be honest though, Sunday night and into Monday I was getting pretty fed up with all the positivity. I think I was just overwhelmed and stressed, but I got pretty bitter and told my mom I was sick of hearing all th...

Friday in Review: Top Five Popular Books I Can't Stand (an unpopular opinion post)

Happy Friday everyone! So yesterday I saw this booktuber do two whole videos on popular books she doesn't like and I thought it was really fun. I love unpopular opinions, even if I disagree with them haha. It did hurt my heart a little bit that she didn't like The Cruel Prince because I love that book and series so much but I could (kind of) see where she was coming from. Anyways! I thought it would be fun to try that on here since I literally have no books to review right now... July's been a super slow reading month for me. These are all my own personal opinions, I hope I don't offend anyone but if I do, I'm sorry haha (also slight spoiler alerts for some of these! Especially the House of Hades book!)  1) The Mortal Instruments. My number one all time least favorite popular book/series is The Mortal Instruments. I can't tell you how much I can't stand this series!! To be honest, I loved the movie that came out a few years ago and I loved the TV sho...

How to Write a Negative Character Arc

Anyone else love reading a train wreck? I find negative character arcs refreshing and fun to read and watch because not a lot of people do them. Like I'm a sucker for a redemption arc. I love characters that start out horrible and bad and "irredeemable" and then slowly redeem themselves and become the good guy. But from time to time I just love watching a good character go bad. Call me evil but I hope I'm not the only one who enjoys this. I've actually wanted to write this post for a while after rewatching Merlin last year and then over the past month me and a friend were rewatching Star Wars and I've always enjoyed the prequels because of Anakin's downward spiral. Also the last season of The 100, you watch as Octavia completes her journey to becoming one of the meanest, worst antagonists in the show. And that's saying something. The other day I really thought about what other characters who have negative arcs there are but I honestly couldn't th...
