Friday in Review: Twisted Fate & Twisted Desire by Jessi Elliot

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great Fourth of July yesterday! :D I haven't done a book review in far too long and since I've wanted to make my book reviews as simple and easy as possible I have a new format which I got from Rebellious Writing.

So one of the only books I read in June were Twisted Fate and Twisted Desire by Jessi Elliot. Actually, I realized while talking to a friend that I didn't read any YA books in June! They were all Adult.

But don't worry, I tend to remedy that with plenty of YA reads this month. Anyways, here is my content review of Twisted Fate and Twisted Desire by Jessi Elliot:

Book 1 Blurb:

Being kidnapped by the leader of the fae
really puts a dent in your senior year.
Aurora Marshall is sharp, witty, and always has a plan. Ready to finish her business degree and graduate, her life is going smoothlyā€“until the night she meets Tristan Westbrook.
Tristan, the overbearing, gorgeous Fae Leader, and an admired businessman in the human world, is all kinds of dangerous. While he finds Aurora intriguing, her refusal to bend to his will keeps them locked in a constant power struggle.
Entering into a deal is the only way to escape Tristanā€™s clutches, which only plunges Aurora deeper into the fae world. With her future at stake, she is forced to handle his arrogance and extraordinary fae abilities as she fights to stay grounded in her mundane life.
Not to mention her struggle to ignore the growing attraction she knows she shouldnā€™t feel for the man who kidnapped her.
When people said college would be the most exciting time of her life, Aurora never thought this is what they meant.

Romance: āœ©āœ©āœ©āœ© These books were heavy on the romance. I wouldn't say it was the most amazingly developed romance I've ever read but I mean, it was good enough for me to keep reading and then continue on to read book 2 cuz I wanted to know what happened.

Lust: āœ©āœ©āœ©āœ©āœ© This is in the Adult genre so let's just say... it was pretty heavy on the lusty stuff. Things get a little heated in both books content wise. Though there were actually only two or three scenes that I had to skip so compared to a few other books I've read, the actual lusty scenes weren't frequent which I appreciated.

Language: āœ©āœ©āœ©āœ© Yaaa there was quite a bit of swearing in these books. I read them near the beginning of June so I don't remember the exact words used, but I do remember them being used. A bit more than I'm used to.

Abuse: I can't remember any kind of abuse in these books... There's one character who's just mean all the time to Aurora like all the time, but other than that I can't think of anything else...

Other: So, honestly, I think I was just in the mood for some major swoon-worthy romance when I read these books. I needed something easy and fluffy and fun, something I could get lost in and not have to think about while reading it. Plus, I'm a sucker for Fae books. If you're looking for that sort of read then these are the books for you, just be aware that it is heavy on the romance and since its in the Adult genre things do get quite a bit heated between certain characters.

Overall: āœ©āœ©āœ© Overall I give both books three out of five stars. I enjoyed them, I'm glad I got to read them and that they were on Kindle Unlimited, but I don't know if I'll be rereading them any time soon.

~~~~~~
Well this was fun. Easy, simple and hopefully helpful to you guys to know if these books are the sort of thing you'd want to read or not. I hope it's OK that I kind of copied Rebellious Writing's format a little bit...
  1. Aahh, the gif was fun!!! šŸ˜†
    I'm not sure I'd read these books, but the review is good and you did nicely with accenting the issues and good stuff, etc!
    Well, I just recently dropped my first review, so if you hop on over to my blog, that'd be easier than explaining it here! LOL
March-May Wrap Up!
 Happy Tuesday!  So I had a March/April blog post all written out and forgot to post it! So here's a March-May recap! How has the last three months gone for you? March ended up being a really good month. I turned 25 and had a really great birthday I got to hang out with friends, watch some new shows and am almost done with the Throne of Glass series. April and May have also been really good months for me. God's blessed me in so many amazing ways over the past three months.  I feel bad that this blog has fallen so to the wayside for me. I used to post every week and be so excited and now I just really struggle to keep this updated. I'm starting to think it might be time to let this blog post unless I somehow get renewed motivation/inspiration for it.  March-May Writing:  March was a very good writing month. I just reached 65K in Immortal Circus #3, and despite a few small hiccups, it's been flowing really well. I'm enjoying getting to draft a book after spending ...
Turning 25!
 Happy Thursday!  At the end of February I was looking back at my wrap ups on my Instagram and on here and it almost made me start crying because of how far I've come. It made me stop and think about where I started my 20's versus where I am now. So much as changed and so much of it for the better. Just looking back at the pictures and wrap ups I've done over the past year, I feel like I'm thriving. I'm at a place I honestly didn't think I'd ever get to and maybe that was just me being dramatic or living in on and off depression for so many years, but it makes me tear up and so thankful to see how far I've come since 20.  At 20 I had a best friend I thought I would still be best friends with when I turned 25. I had him and two other friends at 20 and that was it. I don't even remember what church we were at five years ago, but it wasn't the church we're at now and I know I definitely was not thriving there. I felt so behind everyone else my a...
A Goodbye to The Archive Series
Happy Friday!  The final book of The Archive Series comes out next Tuesday. This has been almost three years in the making and I don't know what to say to properly say goodbye.  I started this series in December 2019 with Golden Touch. The idea had been sparked by me watching The Road to El Dorado and having a desire to write a treasure hunt story for most of December. Little did I know that the story of a girl finding a boy with a Midas touch up in the mountains to help her family with their money issues would turn into a five book series and be a huge part of my life for the next few years. I also had no idea that that series would get me through one of the hardest years - 2020. Honestly, God knew what 2020 would be like and He knew I was going to need a story and characters that would make me happy, give me joy and focus on during that very hard year. And for me, that was Amaya and Darren and this whole series.  I poured a lot of myself and my story into Amaya and Darr...
