Characters! 5 Female Characters I Love!

Yesterday (Thursday) I talked about Independent and Strong Female Characters and now today I am going to share with you my favorite female characters that I think are awesome!

Bella Swan from Twilight:
I'm sure that by now everyone knows who Bella Swan is. Either from the book or the horrible movie that ruined the book. Either way the original Bella Swan is someone I relate to greatly. She's awkward, clumsy, and agonized over decisions. Like me she also has a small obsession with vampires... All of those things to me is what makes her completely awesome! Not the fact that she fell in love with a vampire but the fact that she's quirky and that she survived so much vampire drama and devastations that was thrown at her. Some people may say she's weak because she's the damsel in distress, always having Edward or Jacob save her but honestly I wouldn't mind having a few amazing looking vampires and werewolves come to my rescue.

Scarlet from Scarlet:
I can't exactly talk about female characters without mentioning one of Marissa Meyer's. At the moment Scarlet is my favorite of her line up but I think that once Winter comes out and I get to know her I'll like her a lot because she seems so weird! Anyways back to Scarlet. Now what can I say about her? Well first of all her grandma went missing and she's brave enough to jump onto a table and defend a crazy cyborg girl on TV. Not to mention she also goes into a street fighting place to find Wolf. Then there's the whole jumping off a train thing... And kicking butt... What can Scarlet not do? Honestly though, I think I admire her so much because she's everything I am not. I could never get up the courage to do half the things she does. Haha!

Tanya from 13 Treasures:
Tanya is pretty cool. I think I am so attracted to her because of the fact that she's encounter fairies every day of her life. Though these fairies are a bit darker and meaner and yet through all of their pranks and annoying schemes she still manages to stay sane. Again I pretty much lived through her as a sarcastic and daring girl who was shipped off to a dark magical mansion and had to figure out an even darker mystery.

Jane Peck from Boston Jane:
I love this book and Jane if only because of her personality. When she was little she was a crazy tom-boy but when she met Willaim who became her father's apprentice she changed ever bring about herself to get his approval. I haven't read about a lot of female characters that meet a guy and then turn into a totally different person to make him happy and so she intrigued me. She even moved to the wilderness of Oregan to marry the guy! I don't know about you but I would say that's pretty brave to leave everything you know, a whole society to marry a guy in the wilderness. She encounters foul mouthed sailors and wild Indians and all along still managed to keep herself neat and polite as a proper young lady should. But throughout the series I loved watching her change from a city girl to a roughing it out girl that talks with Indians and survived the wilderness.

Sophie Foster from Keeper of the Lost Cities:
Ok so, Sophie Foster isn't exactly in the Young Adult genre but that doesn't matter to me because I absolutely adore Sophie! She is amazing on so many levels. First of all she's twelve and is insta

Favorite TV Female Characters:

Elena Gilbert from The Vampire Diaries:

This is Elena Gilbert and she is awesome. She has a huge heart and almost loves too much. Family and friends are very important to her and no matter what craziness is going in her life she always makes time for her loved ones. She'll do anything to protect her friends and family and I think the reason I identify so much with her is because of how protective and loving she is toward her little brother Jeremy. There aren't a lot of good brother-sister relationships out there in books and shows but Elena and Jeremy have great relationship. Sure they may disagree or argue sometimes but at the end of the day they always come around. She also happens to be in love with a vampire or two which always ups the awesomeness of a character (for me anyways). What I love most about her though is her fierce loyalty, love and protectiveness toward everyone she loves.

Elizabeth Thatcher from When Calls the Heart:
Elizabeth Thatcher is surprising and eye opening sort of heroine that reminds me of Jane Peck because of her unique personality that I don't see very often in books set in modern days. She voyaged from the city of Philadelphia to Coal Valley, a small western town, to be a teacher to the children there. Her kindness and compassion is admirable and her love for the children is wonderful. She's also a lot like me where if someone pulled a gun on me or if I was attacked by robbers I would be scared out of my mind and thoroughly freaked out. But even so she's courageous and brave always trying to help her students and their families with their problems.

 Clarke Griffin from The 100:

Clarke Griffin is one of those super smart navigator girls who are meant to lead. As you can see on the right she has that look that can make anyone doubt themselves. She keeps on task and once she has a plan she sticks too it no matter what. One of the best things about her is that she is fiercely loyal and won't leave anyone behind and she's willing to give people a second chance most of the time. Her personality is so opposite to mine that I love watching her because I never know what exactly she's going to do. Plus she lives in a dystopia where its do or die which is always fun to watch.

Felicity Smoak from Arrow:

Felicity Smoak is awesome not only because she's a hacker but because she has the exact same attitude for working out as I do. Plus she's super quirky and awkward and usually rambles without knowing when is the appropriate time to stop. Therefore she is one of my favorites because of how funny and awkward she can be.

Amy from Heartland:
I love Amy because of how mature she is and how great she is with horses. Who wouldn't want to help horses every day for a living? Plus she's so kind and loving. She's the kind of girl that I love to read or watch what with being confident, pretty, and positive with her own unique personality that makes you love her and feel so much empathy for.

So, yeah maybe I did go a little crazy on the gifs but what can I say? I love gifs! All of these pretty fictional characters are awesome and my ultimate favorites.

What do you think of them? Who's your favorite female character?

How to Revise like a Pantser ft. Big Hero 6 Gifs

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you've had a great week so far and that you have a great Easter weekend ahead! We plan on going to my grandparent's on Friday to celebrate Easter with family and spending the night there so that'll be a fun time. :) Alright, so I contemplated doing an Easter-y post on here but I wasn't even sure what that would look like... So instead, I thought I'd do something fun and happy in honor of the celebration of Easter on Sunday. Without further ado, here is your Big Hero 6 gif filled revising process from a real life pantser: The end of your first draft is in sight! You type like crazy, stay up past your normal bedtime until it is finished. When you type The End, the satisfaction that you actually did this thing sets in. Guys, it is the sweetest feeling ever. Knowing you worked so hard to complete this draft and came out on the other side. Unscathed? Perhaps not. But triumphant? Definitely! That first draft is a total disast

Cover Reveal: Golden Touch!!

Happy Tuesday!!  Today's the day! I turn 23 and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to share the cover for Golden Touch! I think this is by far my favorite cover my mom has ever done. It's crazy to think that this time last year Golden Touch was still just a first draft and I was in the middle of writing book 2 of the series. A defining part of my twenty-second year will always be having revised Golden Touch and written almost the entire Archive Series. And now I get to open up my twenty-third year with sharing the cover and writing book the first draft of book 5, the very last book in the series. God is so good guys. I really think He gave me Golden Touch and this whole series a few months before the events of 2020 started. He gave me a story I could get lost in, I could find joy in even during some of the hardest times of the year. And now I get to share the cover and I get to close out the series and I just pray and hope that God will use Golden Touch and

How to Write a Negative Character Arc

Anyone else love reading a train wreck? I find negative character arcs refreshing and fun to read and watch because not a lot of people do them. Like I'm a sucker for a redemption arc. I love characters that start out horrible and bad and "irredeemable" and then slowly redeem themselves and become the good guy. But from time to time I just love watching a good character go bad. Call me evil but I hope I'm not the only one who enjoys this. I've actually wanted to write this post for a while after rewatching Merlin last year and then over the past month me and a friend were rewatching Star Wars and I've always enjoyed the prequels because of Anakin's downward spiral. Also the last season of The 100, you watch as Octavia completes her journey to becoming one of the meanest, worst antagonists in the show. And that's saying something. The other day I really thought about what other characters who have negative arcs there are but I honestly couldn't th
