Attributes of a Proverb 31 Woman

The Proverbs 31 Woman has been on my mind a lot lately mostly because I've had a lot of conversations about those verses and many others.

I was talking to a friend of mine and I said something like women are the warriors of the home and I think that's a great way of saying it honestly. God's provided a special place for women in the house. Us girls are to be the nurturers, comforters. We should lift up our husbands and help them in anyway we can and to raise our children to be mighty and godly. Anyways here are 10 virtues of a Proverbs 31 Woman. She is the ideal woman and I believe that every girl should strive to be more like her. Of course we all have our flaws but we should still try.

1. Faith: We girls should serve God with all our heart, mind, and soul. Faith is more than serving though. We should have fTo serve him with joy and gladness in our hearts. But that can be very hard. When your mom says go clean your room or can you help me with this, this, and this most of us groan but do as we're told. It takes a lot of self discipline to serve the Lord with joy. Some are born with that joy, its just a spiritual gift but for others it can be hard... I have trouble with it all the time and am always trying to curb my groans and my negative thoughts.
Proverbs 31:26: She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

2. Marriage: A Proverbs 31 woman respects her husband, and does him good. He can trust her with his money and she is a good helpmeet.
Proverbs 31:11-12: Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.

3. Mothering: This one is one of the most important and one of my favorites. As women of the Lord, his princesses we should teach our children His ways. She nurtures her children and shows them the love that God has for them. She also disciplines them with wisdom and cares.
Proverbs 31:28: Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her;
Proverbs 31:26 also applies to this virtue because she speaks with wisdom to her children.

4. Health: A virtuous woman cares for her body and prepares healthy, wholesome meals for her family. She teaches her children to eat healthy as well.
Proverbs 31:14:She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. (Now I don't know about getting up while it is still dark. That would take a whole like of self discipline for me anyways. I do enjoy my sleep. lol!)

5. Service: She serves her husband, her family, neighbors and friends. Her spirit is gentle and loving and happy to help anyone in need. She is charitable and willing to help.
Proverbs 31:20: She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

6. Finances: A Proverbs 31 woman can be trusted with money. She asks her husband's approval before buying things and is careful with her money. She buys quality items that her family needs.
Proverbs 31: 16: She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
Proverbs 31:18: She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.

7. Industry: I think that this one ties into what I was talking about with having joy in our hearts while we work. The Proverbs 31 woman works willingly with her hands and sings praises as she works. She doesn't grumble about her tasks. She gets them done while praising God.
Proverbs 31:13: She selects wool and flax and works eagerly with her hands.
Proverbs 31:24: She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.

8. Homemaking: Her house is a welcoming place. She creates a warm and loving environment for her family and for her guests so that all can be comfortable. A Proverb's 31 woman uses hospitality to witness to others.
Proverbs 31:27: She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Proverbs 31:20: She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

9. Time: She uses her time wisely and works diligently to get done with all of her tasks. A Proverbs 31 woman does not spend time obsessing or thinking about stuff that doesn't please the Lord.
Proverbs 31:19: In her hands she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
Proverbs 31:27: She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

10: Beauty: Every girl is beautiful but the Proverbs 31 woman has an inner beauty that shows through to her outer appearance. She is modest and draws attention to what is inside and to God instead of to herself.
Proverbs31:10: A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth more than rubies.
Proverbs 31: 21-22: When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

Those are all the things that I strive to be when I become a wife. I want to be a helpmeet to my husband, and I want to take care of my house and children the right way. Most of all I want to please the Lord with my thoughts and actions and I believe that everything the Proverbs 31 woman does is to please the Lord.
I hope you all have a great week!

How to Revise like a Pantser ft. Big Hero 6 Gifs

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you've had a great week so far and that you have a great Easter weekend ahead! We plan on going to my grandparent's on Friday to celebrate Easter with family and spending the night there so that'll be a fun time. :) Alright, so I contemplated doing an Easter-y post on here but I wasn't even sure what that would look like... So instead, I thought I'd do something fun and happy in honor of the celebration of Easter on Sunday. Without further ado, here is your Big Hero 6 gif filled revising process from a real life pantser: The end of your first draft is in sight! You type like crazy, stay up past your normal bedtime until it is finished. When you type The End, the satisfaction that you actually did this thing sets in. Guys, it is the sweetest feeling ever. Knowing you worked so hard to complete this draft and came out on the other side. Unscathed? Perhaps not. But triumphant? Definitely! That first draft is a total disast

Cover Reveal: Golden Touch!!

Happy Tuesday!!  Today's the day! I turn 23 and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to share the cover for Golden Touch! I think this is by far my favorite cover my mom has ever done. It's crazy to think that this time last year Golden Touch was still just a first draft and I was in the middle of writing book 2 of the series. A defining part of my twenty-second year will always be having revised Golden Touch and written almost the entire Archive Series. And now I get to open up my twenty-third year with sharing the cover and writing book the first draft of book 5, the very last book in the series. God is so good guys. I really think He gave me Golden Touch and this whole series a few months before the events of 2020 started. He gave me a story I could get lost in, I could find joy in even during some of the hardest times of the year. And now I get to share the cover and I get to close out the series and I just pray and hope that God will use Golden Touch and

How to Write a Negative Character Arc

Anyone else love reading a train wreck? I find negative character arcs refreshing and fun to read and watch because not a lot of people do them. Like I'm a sucker for a redemption arc. I love characters that start out horrible and bad and "irredeemable" and then slowly redeem themselves and become the good guy. But from time to time I just love watching a good character go bad. Call me evil but I hope I'm not the only one who enjoys this. I've actually wanted to write this post for a while after rewatching Merlin last year and then over the past month me and a friend were rewatching Star Wars and I've always enjoyed the prequels because of Anakin's downward spiral. Also the last season of The 100, you watch as Octavia completes her journey to becoming one of the meanest, worst antagonists in the show. And that's saying something. The other day I really thought about what other characters who have negative arcs there are but I honestly couldn't th
