'Bout this Blogger

Hey so this is a Saturday Night Special! Just for you! I'm sure you're thrilled.
Anyways... Victoria Grace Howell (shout out to Stori Tori!) brought to my attention via Google + this thing called 'Bout this Blogger from the blog Paper Fury (previously known as Notebook Sisters) that I want to do. So she gives all these bloggers that want to participate 10 questions to answer and so I was like sure! This looks fun. How hard can it be. Well let's see.

1. Question number one! Why did you start blogging?
I've always kind of like blogs and I thought they were really cool. Plus they seemed like a lot of fun so I was like why not give it a go? And now here I am and here you are reading me ramble.
P.S. I read most of her questions before hand and I feel awful because some of my answers are going to be more boring than others. But please! Stay with me! I'm not as boring as you think.
And with that pitiful plea onto the next question:
2. What is the story behind my blogs name?
Well so me and my mom were trying to come up with a good blog names and she was like why not Melody's Musings. For some odd reason I thought it sounded kinda funny so I said sure and we just rolled with it.
3. How many designs have you been through since you started blogging?
Ummm... Including this one? Officially one design. Yep this is one of the boring answers. But I have only had this blog for like a year now so I'm sure I'll start branching out on designs sooner or later.
4. Have you ever switched blog platforms? What made you move? If you haven't ever changed... why?
Ok umm... Well I'm assuming that blog platforms means what I write about on my blog. And if that's the case then yes I have... kind of. At first I was only going to blog book reviews but then I got more confidant and branched out to many different topics.
5. How long does it take for you to write a post? What is your postly process like?
First of all I laughed at the phrase postly process because I have a weird sense of humor and found it funny. Anywho it takes me from a few minutes to like 20 minutes and I usually get all of my posts done over the were ken so that I have everything all ready for the weekend.
6. Have you ever been super nervous about a post? Why?! What was it?
I would have to say probably my first post (Welcome)...
My first book review (Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursa) and the book review on When God Writes Your Love Story
7. Do you have a blogging schedule?
Yup. Every day of the week except for on Saturdays and Sundays. (Tonight is of course an exception.)
8. Do you tell people In-Real-Life about your blog? Their reaction?
Actually... I love to text and so I've like "text told" people that I have a blog and they've all been very nice and supportive.
9. Top ten blogs you read/comment on the most. Go! Go!
4. Stori Tori
8. Shannon Messenger Blog (where I like to explore.)
10. Paper Fury
10. If you could change/improve about your blog, what would they be?
Ummm... My URL and getting my posts on at the same time...

So, you survived ten questions! Awesome! Great job!
Now for a question or two. Do you have a blog? If you do what's it like? What are your favorite blogs? (Ok I lied it was three questions.)

  1. Eep! Thanks for doing my tag and helping me spread the word!

Hehe, I'm glad you found #5 funny. ;-) I have a weird sense of humour too, obviously, and let's not ask if postly is a word or not. xD 20 mins is super fast! I get my reviews down in a jiffy, but I spend hoooours perfecting the formatting and finding gifs and such. :))

  3. Aw. Thanks for the mention. ^ ^ Your answers totally weren't boring. I need to adopt your method of getting all of your posts ready for the week at one time. XD I can get the posts up on the same day, but at the right time is tough for me. Scheduling is my best friend lol. I've really enjoyed your blog! Keep up the good work!

How to Revise like a Pantser ft. Big Hero 6 Gifs

Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you've had a great week so far and that you have a great Easter weekend ahead! We plan on going to my grandparent's on Friday to celebrate Easter with family and spending the night there so that'll be a fun time. :) Alright, so I contemplated doing an Easter-y post on here but I wasn't even sure what that would look like... So instead, I thought I'd do something fun and happy in honor of the celebration of Easter on Sunday. Without further ado, here is your Big Hero 6 gif filled revising process from a real life pantser: The end of your first draft is in sight! You type like crazy, stay up past your normal bedtime until it is finished. When you type The End, the satisfaction that you actually did this thing sets in. Guys, it is the sweetest feeling ever. Knowing you worked so hard to complete this draft and came out on the other side. Unscathed? Perhaps not. But triumphant? Definitely! That first draft is a total disast

How to Write a Negative Character Arc

Anyone else love reading a train wreck? I find negative character arcs refreshing and fun to read and watch because not a lot of people do them. Like I'm a sucker for a redemption arc. I love characters that start out horrible and bad and "irredeemable" and then slowly redeem themselves and become the good guy. But from time to time I just love watching a good character go bad. Call me evil but I hope I'm not the only one who enjoys this. I've actually wanted to write this post for a while after rewatching Merlin last year and then over the past month me and a friend were rewatching Star Wars and I've always enjoyed the prequels because of Anakin's downward spiral. Also the last season of The 100, you watch as Octavia completes her journey to becoming one of the meanest, worst antagonists in the show. And that's saying something. The other day I really thought about what other characters who have negative arcs there are but I honestly couldn't th

Friday in Review: May Monthly Wrap-Up

Happy Wednesday once more everyone! I hope you've all had a great May. May has been full of lots of life stuff and writerly stuff and reading. I am so excited to share it with you all (along with an awesome new thing I'm doing for next month on here)! May Writing: May was full of lots of writing... Like lots. I finished draft four of The Lost Ones, came up with the name The Lost Ones and finished editing draft five. Now comes the hard work of plugging in all those changes and edits into my Word doc. Oh the joys of writing... ;) But for real, I am so excited that I finished the read through for TLO and I am even more excited to finish this draft so I can get it ready for betas. This month I also planned out the series... I've never planned out a series ever. I'm a pantser so what do I do? I make life hard for myself by winging not only my novels but entire series too. That whole not planning thing? It didn't work for me and since I'm wanting to take myself m
