You can always edit a bad page. You can't edit a blank page.
-Nora Roberts and Jodi Picoult
This quote is very helpful and very accurate. Not to mention inspiring. The real work does begin when you edit. Yes I know it's hard to write the first draft. Trust me I know, I have difficulty with my inner editor all the time. But know that you just need to get it all out, messy and scattered to go to the next stage and edit.
What do you think about this quote? What's hardest for you: writing it all out or editing?
